Welcome Back Letter

8/17/2017

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back for another wonderful year at Waccamaw High School! I am very excited about the coming year and have lots of great plans for us to learn in many ways! We had a fantastic first day of school and I’m sure many more will follow! Our para-educators who are with us in the class to help assist us in our educational endeavors are Mr. Bob Nettles, Mr. Eric Sparkman and Ms. Cathy Mcgee! We also have a sign language interpreter this year, Ms. Barbara May.  I will be sending home a few forms to fill out for this year. Please make sure to fill out the community trip form this week so we can be all set for our first trip!

Please send in the following supplies in the next few days: tooth brush, tooth paste, and deodorant. The following things are needed for our baking projects: cake mix, cupcake cups, frosting, fold type baggies, oil, and cooking spray. We will be having our Bake Sales on Wednesdays this year!

We will be going out into the community again on Tuesdays and Fridays. I will send a schedule home at the beginning of the month so you know where we will be and can discuss our activities! As always, feel free to call or text me on my cell (602-6447) with any questions, concerns or information I need to know concerning your child! You can also sign up for “remind 101”. It is a system where I can send out a mass text announcement to let you know about important deadlines or events. If you would like to sign up for this text 81010 and in the message box type @71fb

We will be volunteering at Goodwill again this year on Mondays. New students will fill out the application and can begin after their paperwork is processed. This usually takes a few weeks.

I’m looking forward to a great year! You have the best children! They are truly special people and I am fortunate and appreciative to have them in my life! Thanks for sharing them with me!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mary Tester
