Subjects Taught
Anatomy & Physiology, AP Biology, Biology I Honors

I graduated from College of Charleston with a degree in Biology in 1987.  My plans were to attend MUSC beginning in 1988, but became bored and started education classes.  After a semester, I was so in love with teaching that I denied my acceptance and continued on with teaching.  I earned a Master of Education degree in 1997 from the University of South Carolina.  I achieved National Board Certification in 2001.  I have now started work on my Doctorate of Education degree in curriculum and instruction.

I began teaching in Fayetteville, NC as a middle school science teacher.  I moved to Columbia, SC and taught at Lower Richland High School for 9 years.  I moved home and taught at Georgetown High for 5 years and transferred to Waccamaw High.  I have been at Waccamaw High for 10 years.

I was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 6, 1966.  Other than the 6 weeks there, I have lived in South Carolina the rest of my life.  I grew up in Bennettsville, SC and Murrells Inlet during the summers.  I have one daughter that is living and going to school in Charleston.  I have a maltese named Dixie and she is just a delightful pet.  I enjoy reading, time in the creek, and traveling to visit family and friends.   I am thrilled to say that my grandmother just celebrated her 100th birthday!
