Max Goree, owner of Pawleys Island Bakery, was named "Outstanding Employer of the Year" by TASC (Transition Alliance of South Carolina) at its annual conference Sept. 29 in Columbia. Goree was nominated by Waccamaw High’s transition teacher Mary Tester, who is a past winner of Outstanding Special Educator of the Year. Tester nominated Goree because of his outstanding work providing on-the-job training for disabled students from Waccamaw High. Congratulations, Max, for a well-deserved state honor and thank you for the valuable work you are doing with Waccamaw High students at Pawleys Island Bakery!
